Les Stewart of Queensland, Australia began typing the numbers from one to a million — in words — in 1982. It took him 16 years, seven typewriters, 1000 ink ribbons, and 19,990 sheets of paper to finish. And he did it all with one finger. From Recordholders.org:

When asked why he has undertaken this time consuming and repetitious task, Les says that he has little else to do now that he has been classed as an invalid, and can no longer work. Besides that, Les enjoys typing and used to be a police typing instructor before his sickness which meant his withdrawal from the force. Typing an average three pages a day with one finger since April 1982, Les said his secret was to type for 20 minutes on the hour, every hour

Stupid Computer Tricks!

Anyone that knows me is well aware that I have plenty of tech stories of the fools that have been beaten by their tech goodies.  Well, this site really made my chuckle at these issues, as I’ve seen many of them before.

NOTE: If you have to alter the case to make it fit, then *maybe*, just maybe, you may not have the right part.

I’m thinking that online shopping is not for this person that put TWO credit cards into the floppy drive.

See that hole? There should be a black block of plastic that you would plug a telephone cable into from the outside of the computer. Why in the world should anyone have to unplug a cable when you can rip the entire connector off the circuit board?? I can only hope this kept them off the ‘net for a while.

I guess this person wanted to be able they could get to ‘My Computer’ no matter what. I enjoy how close the three icons are, all in the same corner of the screen… and I’m not even going to point out the AOL icon…

This bearded wonder is a computer in need of some cleaning.  At least they didn’t put it in the dishwasher.

Notice that the label is also stuck the metal shutter that opens to give access to the actual disc.  Yep, that data is safe.

There’s plenty more on the site, so go check it out.
