You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give toanybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.

That pretty much sums up the farce that is American News Media. Also, go watch the movie Network which predicted this madness back in 1976.

Any of you with a clue should have given up on what passes for news media in the US now, so I point you over to the BBC site to read their article “US to force AIG to repay bonuses“, which in itself is a bit of a misleading headline.
Basically, since AIG handed out $165 million in bonuses, the US (no longer citizen representing) government is going to reduce the next check for $30 BILLION by the 165 million paid out for bonuses. The bonuses went to ‘the best and brightest’ that got them into the trouble with questionable business decisions, I’m sure the new AIG boss Ed Liddy wouldn’t want to risk losing these top shelf fools.
The BBC article states that 73 indivuduals recieved a bonus in excess of $1 million.
Clearly, this does make me very angry as a US tax payer, but I don’t believe my government needs to meddle in the works of the company that’s failing… just let them fail, reduce my taxes so I can have more money in my pockets and choose where to spend such money, instead of the socialistic tide of having to hand over 1/3 of my money in taxes each year, to be handed out to programs such as T.A.R.P. that I do not approve of.
By making the average uninformed citizen angry with a 45 second blipvert on CNN Headlines News and making them think that the government should meddle in the marketplace… then Obama and is puppeteers at Bilderberg get more support to convert each of the companies into bloated government zombies instead of letting the weak companies die and allowing the leaner, focused and better companies take the place of the mismanaged corpses that are on lifesupport using my tax money.
If you let AIG die, I bet several companies will fill the void and there would be competition among them, which leads to a better market. Basic financial rules haven’t changed, only the understanding of them has faded as the greed goggles have blinded those in charge.
There’s a reason that greed is one of the seven deadly sins.

Today, it dawned on me how ironic it is that it’s Obama that spouts on and on about ‘change’, but it’s actually the McCain/Palin bill that had the fuel for Tina Fey to change Saturday Night Live into the funny show that it once was.

The definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing and expect a different outcome. – Benjamin Franklin
OK, now I’m so tired of hearing about the hurricanes that I’d be interested in hacking the ‘big red button’ to set off some nukes and I’m praying that the Large Hadron Collider actually does suck the Earth off the map because most of the humans on the planet are too stupid to live.
Let me explain a few things to the morons that are on the coast and complaining about hurricanes… AGAIN, just like last year, and the year before that. Maybe a map is beyond your income, but they have them at the library. If you look at the maps, you’ll realize that those large bodies of water were there BEFORE your house was built. That means the poor planning is YOUR fault. Next, this is America when you are free to make your own decisions, but when did it become the government’s duty to save your dumb ass? You want to live by the water that you should have known about before you settled in, then fine… you chose to live there, and guess what?.. that means you also chose to live with the consequences. I don’t hear the Eskimos complaining every year about snow. They’ve prepared for it, they understand it’s going to be cold and there’s going to be snow this year, next year and many years into the future. I’m cool with that. In fact, I’m far more likely to send money to the Eskimos for NOT annoying me every year. You don’t hear Eskimos building inadequate houses with a car port and a patio and complaining about it.
Guess what?? There’s going to be hurricanes next year, and the year after that, too – and I didn’t need some idiot on TV that’s too stupid to come in from the rain to tell me that. I don’t understand why reporters have to go stand in the wind and rain to tell me the weather. It’s rain, I know what rain is – it’s a clear non-alcoholic liquid dropping from the sky. Got it. I don’t need to see someone trying to stand up in high winds to know it’s windy. Now, I WOULD like to see these idiots cover a volcano for me and go stand in the lava… now that’s something I HAVEN’T seen.
Why should the government use my tax dollars to save these fools that keep doing the same thing every year? If you want to live down there, have an emergency fund, prepare and stop whining. And to the ‘news reporters’, I use the term very loosely because a REAL reporter was Walter Croncite, not some plastic surgery victim with a hair fetish that spends more time in the tanning bed than actually keeping up with current events. The current crop of news reporters can’t tell a story unless there’s some video footage, and Heaven forbid there be part of the story that’s not captured on video because that portion of the story will never be covered, or even considered. If the American public would demand more from the news, and just turn on BBC America and other news sources, then the media would lose their powers and have to reform, so it’s our fault for accepting this low level of reporting, but it’s not politically correct to be responsible for one’s own actions.

Yes, I’m aware this is a year old, but it would appear that some people may need a refresher. The sad part is, these people are technically allowed to vote.

Earlier tonight, I was switching channels and watched a bit of the Republican National Convention on Faux News. What I found interesting in this convention in the year 2008 is the amount of ‘homemade posters’. Sure, back in ‘76 I’m sure that making a poster with a large poster board and some paint made sense. I just checked the calender and it is indeed 2008, and some of the things that’s changed since the ’70’s is that computers are in wide use now, photoshop is widely available and printing options are wide and varied. Next, let’s consider that the people at the convention didn’t just wake up, order a ticket to the convention and run down there in a matter of hours. No, there was much planning involved to get that many people together and each of the people had to plan. Did these people not have access to a freakin’ FedEx/Kinkos? The Kinkos down the street from me is open 24 hours and I have to drive past a couple of smaller ‘Mom ‘n’ Pop’ print shops which also have the ability to do some great signs at a variety of sized. Heck, it’s not all that hard to find a place to print out the vinyl and cover your car in a patriotic theme for the drive to the national convention. So why would someone go to the trouble of making a mess with paint and poster board to make an inferior sign? So the mindless masses at home will see the simple signs, and ‘feel’ the energy from the signs, for fear that a professional sign might come across and ‘too slick’ and manipulative - so a simple sign is able to actually manipulate by exploiting the lack of analytical skills of the masses. That’s how I see it from my arm chair… you view may differ - so go get yer own site.

YouTube DirektLinkin Park is a roller coaster
The site You Have Bad Taste In Music is the brain child of my newest hero, Eman Laerto. For several years, it’s been clear that one of the obvious causes of declining record sales has been that the quality of the musical offerings has been in decline. You can look at it several ways and each brings you to the clear conclusion that the major studios just don’t get it. If you compare the chart topping discs of the 80’s, you’ll notice that many of the discs produced multiple top ten hits because the same major producer was used for most, if not all, of the album. Now, the studio only brings in the high dollar producer for a track, then uses some cheaper producer to create the filler for the rest of the album. This has lead the audience to transition from listening to entire albums to becoming listeners with individual track based music collections, which leads to an atmosphere of one hit wonders by design and listeners that are far less interested in a bands entire back catalog.
Another fact that’s hard for the general public to understand if the lack of dynamic range in the newer recordings, which makes for the sensation of a louder song, but loses impact and details. This issue is covered HERE. This is ironic given the large leaps forward that the recording formats allow in overall quality and speaker and headphone designs that are capable of bringing out fine details. Instead, it’s ham fisted recording engineers with tin ears that record via the level indicators instead of actually listening to the recording.
My YHBTM shirt has been ordered and I’ll let ya know when it comes in.
Here’s an interview of Eman Laerton for FR*A. (Warning!! NSFW due to language.)

Check out the official site HERE

I’m sure the media machine will spend April 15th once again with the mobile cameras at the Post Offices to interview those poor saps that waited until the last minute again, instead of covering any real information or actually making people think because they will have to cut the story short so they can put an American Idol update in the time they have carved out for thier ‘news program’.
